The Goth Legacy

Mortimer Goth kept himself to himself as a matter of fact.  He wasn't an outsider, nor his family. They were quite well known, his father drove a limo actually. And with his mother, the great guitarist and all. However, they were different. They lived in a big house, with a grave yard nearby and the remains of previous Goth family members in the back yard. Mortimer had seen ghosts and he wasn't afraid of them. They were his family after all.
Mortimer was smart. He was good at chess and all things logical, he had many dreams and becoming the ultimate chess legend was one of them. He watched his mother playing the guitar and wished to be as good as her, but at the piano.
Mortimer  was a grumpy soul , although being a friendly and ambitious person, he was popular with a few of the Sunset Valley kids, especially Bella Bachelor.  Bella and Mortimer were inseparable and being family friends meant they saw a lot of each other.
Mortimer sometimes believes he has a bit of a crush on Miss Bachelor, and little does Master Goth know, the feeling is mutual. So this is where the Goth legacy continues...

Chapter 1

'Where are we going, Bells?' Mortimer smiled as he hugged his best friend.
'I need to go to the grocery to pick some things up for my mother, and then I need to show you something!' Bella replied.

'Hurry!' Bella shouting to a struggling Mortimer who was way behind her.

Mortimer was so slow, he could barely hear Bella shout him.
'I'm coming, wait for me!'
"How come I've never been here before?" Mortimer thought to himself.
'Bells, this place is magical!'
'It's called Maywood Glen! A lot of people hang out here, Mort!' Bella smiled.
'Can this be our special place?' Mortimer said.
'Of course, we can come here for anything. To eat, to play, to study! It's amazing!'
'Thanks Bells. I've got to go home now'
'Goodbye!'

Chapter 2

Mortimer arrived home and the sky was a beautiful sight.
Mortimer decided he wasn't tired and wanted to work on his painting
skill and then turn in for the night.
His father Gunther Goth came upstairs, behind him.
'Son, you're always so bored after you have finished your
homework and I don't think you're quite ready to try out on our chess board so
I think this might come in handy' Gunther pulled out a present and Mortimer
jumped up in joy.
'What is it, Dad?'
'A computer!' Gunther beamed.
Mortimer hugged his father tight and smiled.
This was the first time he had ever owned something electrical, apart from the
stereo in his room but he didn't really use that.
Now he could talk to Bella and work on his writing skill!

 Chapter 4
'Fiddlesticks! I forgot to do my homework!' Mortimer cried,
jumping out of bed and running downstairs.
The butler looked astonished as she watched Mortimer hurtle through the kitchen.
 'Mortimer?' The butler said.
'Yes?'
'What ever is the matter?'
'I forgot to do my homework, that's all!'
The butler laughed and then returned  back to cleaning the kitchen.

~ Later on in the day~
'If I finish this now, I can talk to Bella online later!' Mortimer gleamed with his little
white teeth.

When Mortimer, finally, returned home he found a brown wild horse waiting in his garden.
'Hello there' Mortimer called out.
The horse neighed in appreciation.
Mortimer went to stroke him and the wild horse let out another loud neigh and galloped off.
'I didn't mean to scare you! Come back' Mortimer cried.
But the horse had already vanished.

When Mortimer arrived indoors, he realised it was too late to talk to anyone.
It was lucky he didn't get a scolding from his parents but they
had been rather distant lately and hey, at least he didn't get picked up in a patrol car.

So Mort settled for a game of chess under the light of his elegant kitchen.

Chapter 5

Later that evening, Mortimer aged up into a teenager. And boy his childhood days flew by fast!

So this is the grown up, handsome , Master Goth!
He developed the Brooding trait as he has a lot of thoughts and prefers to
express them rather than bottle them up inside of him.
He decided to start writing a book. A book of poems about a beautiful girl called Bella.
He named it 'My Love'

By this time, his parents had aged into elders and Mortimer knew it obviously wouldn't be long until
they died and he would have to place their remains with their parents in the back yard.

Mortimer's teacher gave Mortimer 'Demand excellence or you'll get mediocrity' for him to read to
give him a higher grade at school.
Mortimer decided to read it straight away and then move on to tackle his homework.

Mortimer returned home and invited Bella over.

'Bells, these are for you!' Mortimer pulled out a bunch of red roses from behind his back
and gave them to her.
'Mort, these are beautiful!'
'So are you' Mortimer could barely believe his words came out.
'I love you' They both said.

Chapter 6

Mortimer got a part time job at the grave yard to improve his school grades. He didn't mind
as stereotypically that's the sort of job a 'Goth' would get.
He decided to sit outside in the graveyard all night and read different skill books.

That night, Mortimer grew into a handsome young adult,
and was graduating the next day!

Mortimer and his parents went to his graduation that morning,
and Mortimer got the 'Most likely to fulfil his lifetime wish' award.

He through his diploma into the air with pride.
He had graduated!

That night, Mortimer went to the elementary school to begin
the process of fulfilling his dream to become
a teacher. He got recruited  straight away
as a Playground Monitor. He was on his way
to fulfilling his dream and he was over the moon!

Chapter 7

Shortly after, Bella also grew up into a gorgeous young adult.
She changed up her hair, got inked and got some piercings.
You could say she was rebelling from her young and innocent ways.

Mortimer immediately popped the question...
Bella agreed, happily.

The wedding party was a success. Mortimer and Bella's families
both appeared to watch their beloved children tie the knot!
Bella had always wanted children of her own and decided to tell Mortimer
her idea. Mortimer thought it was a great idea. He loved kids..

~Early the next morning...~

Unfortunately, Gunther perished from old age.
He was buried in the family grave patch in the backyard..

Chapter 8

Although the Goths were used to death, it was harder than Cornelia had expected.
Mortimer and Bella hadn't taken it well either.

'I loved him very much, Mortimer' Cornelia tried to cheer her son up.
'I know we can still see him..' Mortimer blinked.
'Every night' Cornelia smiled. The Goth's knew that death was
not a goodbye in this household.

'I'd like to adopt a horse, please' Bella said.
'Of course, please select one' the horse seller told Bella.
'I'd like this one' Bella had chosen a black horse
 with white hair, called Mulberry.
Later that day, the horse was dropped off at the Goth's house.
Mulberry was gorgeous and Bella fell in love with him, immediately.
She also found out she was pregnant! She wants a girl.

Chapter 9

Mortimer built himself a study within his house on the third floor.
He spent a lot of time researching Alchemy and studying different skills.

He only left his study to go to work at the school and he slept in his study too.
He was leaving Bella alone in her blissful and brutal pregnancy.
He had no idea.
Feeling alone, Bella decided to visit her childhood home,
which wasn't far away. Her mother was quite ill and Bella
knew she might not have long left.
'Bella!' her mum smiled, happily when she saw her daughter
come up the stairs.
'Mom, hi' Bella beamed back.
'How's the baby?' her mother rubbed
'I think the baby is fine. Little baby keeps kicking' Bella giggled.
'A healthy soul' her mother smiled up at her daughter.
'And I see you're wearing the dress I got you.  It looks nice.
Abit of colour never did you any harm, darling' her mother said.
'I know mom. I like it though.. Shame it will be too big when
the baby arrives' Bella said.
'Keep it until the next one is on the way, hunny' Her mum winked at her.
'Shouldn't be long!'
'Mom!' Bella went bright red.
'I'm only playing, darling.. Now let's talk about Mortimer'
Back at home, Mortimer had installed a new project.
After a while, Bella said goodbye to her mom, and returned home.
She guess that Mortimer would be too busy to pay her any attention so she
went to see Mulberry.

Chapter 10
One week later...
When Mortimer finished work, he came home to find his wife
leaving to visit the book store. He checked in on Odette and went to work
on his book that Miraj Alvi wanted him to write.
He started working on 'A scientifical look at life'

About an hour later, Bella returned, deciding whether she'd start reading
her new book or cook dinner for the family.

She decided she better make dinner, as the butler always does it and she
thought it would be a nice idea to do it for once.
Just as she was about to get the ingredients out, the phone rang.

'Bella Goth speaking' Bella answered the phone.
'Hello' the voice replied.
'Michael!' Bella smiled, happy to hear her brother's voice.
'Bella, I'm afraid to say that Mom passed away last night'
 Bella gasped, and steadied herself.

'Oh Michael!'

'Please don't cry, Bells. We knew she was ill,
and she's in a better place now' Michael sniffed. 'And I've decided
to have a small funeral for Mom, quite soon'

'Don't you think we should have some time to mourn, Michael?'

'Dad hasn't got long either, Bella. I want him to be there, as much as
you two don't get along. I know he's got his wicked ways, what with his
condition'

'I see' Bella sighed.

'I've arranged the funeral to be in a few days time. At your place'

'Alright, Michael' Bella put the phone down, sadly.

Chapter 11

The funeral went ahead as planned, however Bella's father
went home shortly after arriving, claiming he didn't have the
time to be there, and that it didn't have anything to do with the death
of his wife, but Bella.

Bella and Michael were very different people now, compared
to the two sweet children they were only a few years ago.

They both liked different things and hardly saw each other anymore.
For Bella, having her brother in her presence was a helping hand to
how she had been feeling about her mother's death and the way
her father had reacted to her.

Mortimer had been in his office for most of the time that
Bella had spent mourning. Knowing Mortimer he probably
hadn't heard the news of his mom-in-law's death.

A few days later...

Bella was feeling better. A lot better actually.
She had been spending a lot of time with Odette.
It was Odette's birthday soon, and Bella was pretty
sure her second child would be born quite near it.

Bella was determined to get her family back on track, and
to coax Mortimer out of his office. She couldn't wait
for baby no.2 to be born. She thought that would be the
key to get her family back!

 Chapter 12

Mortimer woke up early on Saturday morning and thought about
his family. He thought about his Aunt Agnes and decided
to give her a call. She lived alone and she never re-married after
her husband passed away. Mortimer had a plan to get her wed before it's too late.

'Hi Aunty! It's Mort'
'Oh, hi dear'
'How are you?' Mortimer asked, politely.
'I'm alright, Mortimer'
'Good, how would you like to
come to tea?' Mortimer asked.
'When, dear?'
'Tonight?'
'Hmm..Okay' Agnes agreed.

Mortimer asked the butler to cook a meal for
when his aunt came to tea.
The butler agreed and Mortimer went upstairs to
his office.

Whilst Mortimer waited for Aunt Agnes to arrive,
he asked the question  "Should I have kids?" to the Orb of Answers.
It answered that there is no doubt to his question. But Mortimer was
still not sure.

It got to around 9pm and Mortimer took it as his
Aunt wasn't coming.
He said good night too his wife and Odette and went
to his office.

Chapter 13
It's Odette's birthday!

Bella promised her daughter a shopping trip in the morning.

A few hours later...

Bella had gone into labour. Her and Mortimer made
their way to the hospital.
Bella had a beautiful baby boy called Zen.

Later on that day, as Bella was fine and dandy to return
home and continue life as before, Bella and Odette went
to the stylist salon.

Odette got a series of makeovers by
a professional and her mother but she couldn't find one style
that she liked. Eventually, she decided to give herself a makeover.

Finally, Odette chose to get her hair highlighted
dark purple and chose a new style which she loved!

Bella also decided to get her tattoos re-coloured.

When they got home, Odette went to bed and Bella decided to
spend some time with Mortimer...

Chapter 14

In the middle of the night, Odette was awaken
by Jinx, her imaginary friend.

'Hello!' Jinx whispered, happily.
'What are you doing? It's the middle of
the night!' Odette replied, angrily.
'I'm sorry, Odette. I just wanted to
see you' Jinx said.
After a while, Odette got out of bed and
played with Jinx.

'I love you, Odette' Jinx whispered.
'Don't be silly, Jinx!' Odette smiled.
'Don't you love me?' Jinx replied, sadly.
'You can't love an imaginary friend!' Odette giggled.
'If you don't love me, then I don't exist' Jinx said, quietly.
'Huh?' Odette asked, as Jinx disappeared.

 Chapter 15

A while past and Odette hadn't seen Jinx since
she denied her love for him. Bella had has two girls, Garnet
and Aura. Aunt Agnes moved in with her lover, Dante and
his daughter, Crimson. Agnes was pregnant, and they were
just staying with the Goth's until the baby was born.

Jinx came to see Odette on her birthday and
he too grew into a teen. He kissed her and Odette kissed him back.
Odette just hoped she could discover the potion to turn him into
a human.

A few days later, Aunt Agnes gave birth to a beautiful little
boy called Shayde. The Wolf family then moved out to a big
house in the town.

The next day, Bella and Mortimer got an invite to
go on a free vacation. Odette was to look after the three
children and try discover the potion for her love.
She had set out to do just that!

 Chapter 16
~ Prologue for new beginnings ~
Odette turned Jinx into a human
just before they grew into young adults.
She immediately confessed her love to him.

Chapter 17
Being a young adult, Odette wanted
to take the plunge and find a job. She would have liked
to enrol in university but she couldn't bare to leave her family
and of course, Jinx.
